For over twenty-five years Moore MMA has been a staple in the Pittsburgh fitness community. We have a proven track record of ensuring our clients reach their goals, whether that be winning a fight, losing unwanted pounds, or finally recovering from an injury. In these years of experience, we’ve perfected our method of teaching practical self-defense and fitness using techniques and training methods derived from the training and conditioning used in boxing, kickboxing, and submission wrestling, which is the same mix of martial arts you see in ultimate fighting. At Moore MMA we customize a training program that will get you in the best shape of your life while teaching you the fundamentals of self-defense, all in a safe, comfortable, professional environment at a reasonable cost.

At Moore MMA, we won’t teach you traditional karate, boxing or wrestling even though your training will draw on these and other disciplines. We won’t lock you into particular stances or positions, even though you’ll learn a lot of them. We won’t insist that you have an enlightened state of mind either, because there’s nothing mystical about what works. And we won’t make you train for years to see results, we can teach you to defend yourself in just six months.

Dan Moore has 40-plus years experience in martial arts and has been teaching for 35 years. Dan is the most highly-regarded and well-known mixed martial arts trainer in the Tri-State area.

Equally skilled at working with those new to training as well as experienced fighters, Dan customizes a challenging, intense and fun workout that pushes both expert and novice practitioners to their mental and physical limits. Dan holds a second degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and has trained in boxing, Thai boxing, Kali, Silat, Shoot wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Dan is a current representative to Erik Paulson’s Combat Submission Wrestling Association and is a past representative to Larry Hartsell’s Jun Fan Grappling Association.

Jodi Forlizzi
Jodi Forlizzi has been training in martial arts for over 25 years and has experience and expertise in kicking, striking, grappling, and takedowns. She has taught self-defense in private and corporate settings, and is interested in promoting martial arts…
and self-defense strategies as a means to empower people and as a practice of non-violence. Jodi holds a fourth degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and a third degree black belt in Seido Karate. She has trained in kickboxing, submission grappling, MMA, judo, jiu-jitsu, and Tai Chi. She currently holds a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Tommy Costa.

Amber Aughenbaugh is an ACE-Certified Personal Trainer. Her decision to get into the fitness industry came after a breast cancer diagnosis at the young age of 32. She’s always been active, yet getting back to her previous level of physical ability…
following treatment was challenging. Her personal fitness achievements include: earning a first degree black belt in World Tang Soo Do, 6 years playing roller derby at the travel team level, running a marathon and biking a century ride. She has been training in mixed martial arts for 4 years. Her personal training experience covers a vast range of physical ability levels ranging from those with special needs to competitive athletes. Amber is enthusiastic about assisting others to reach their health and fitness goals.
Todd Mussman
Todd Mussman
Todd Mussman has been teaching martial arts professionally for the last 3 years, and specializes in Jiu jitsu/submission grappling and Kali.  He teaches both group classes and private lessons, as well as offering personal training for strength, fitness, and general preparedness. 
Todd’s introduction to Jiu jitsu and submission grappling began when he was stationed in Okinawa while serving in the US Marine Corps.  He developed a strong passion for the arts and has continued to build his life around them ever since.  He is an experienced and insightful teacher and has experience working with many different types of people to help them achieve their goals.
